In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Central location near public transport — Within a minute's walk of Friedrichstrasse station, the hotel makes exploring Berlin easy. It's also a short walk to Friedrichstadt-Palast.
  • The Level executive lounge access — Guests booking The Level category get lounge access with complimentary drinks and meals from 6 AM to 10 PM, plus dedicated staff.
  • Quiet rooms despite central spot — Several guests note that rooms are quiet even though the hotel is right by a busy station and river area.

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Breakfast buffet could get monotonous — While the breakfast is praised, some longer-stay guests found the variety limited, though a cook was available for custom omelettes.
  • Some rooms may show wear — One guest mentioned 'good underwear' (likely a mix-up), but no consistent negative theme. Consider that the hotel has a high review count and an 8.5 rating.
  • Price for the class — Given its central location and amenities, rates may be higher than hotels further out, but guests generally find the value acceptable.

“Everything was outstanding. The location is superb and breakfast very good. The Level category is unbeatable – drinks and meals from 6 AM to 10 PM at no extra cost. The best part is the staff, many of whom speak Spanish, which is a real plus in Berlin. I especially appreciate the human quality and professionalism. Thank you to Almudena, Maria, and Maria Fernanda for always solving our issues with a smile, and to Luis for his morning cheerfulness. Also thanks to Sofie for her expertise in managing The Level. The Level experience at Melia Berlin is absolutely recommendable.”

“Breakfasts were excellent, the room cozy, and good underwear.”

“Great hotel with a large, clean room.”

“The location is the best – you can walk to see the main sights, and taxis are fast and reasonably priced. The spa is useful after a long day. The buffet is good but not very varied; after several days it gets repetitive, though there's a cook who can make any omelette you like. Staff are charming, especially the Spanish ones. The pillow service is exceptional.”

“Fantastic location, just a minute's walk to the train station makes exploring easy.”
